5.5.08 - Recording My Album!

Hey friends,
My manager and I went to the east coast last weekend and had the most rewarding experience! I got together with new production duo 4H2A (Mike Lovett and Trae Lee) to work on two songs for my debut album. I took some pics to share with everyone...

Mike and Trae were the most motivating and inspirational producers I've worked with so far. Before we started the actual recording session, we took time to get to know each other over a wonderful sushi dinner! (My fave, by the way!)

We exchanged ideas, such as my goals and the type of music I want to deliver, and talked about the writing and recording processes.

We were also joined by vocalist and writer "extraordinaire" Dyani Myles who assisted with my vocal and lyrical preparation. She guided me with rhythmic arrangement, background vocals, and even helped "pen" an amazing hook for my second single, which happens to be the title track for my album, "Only Me." It was an honor to work with her. Her talents are overwhelming, so it's only a matter of time before everyone starts hearing her name!

 4H2A and I also recorded another song, "We're Like That," which is an all-around feel-good dance track – especially for my girlfriends! Even though we finished sooner than planned (because Mike and Trae are ridiculously skilled), we all had a great, fun, productive time.

Of course it wasn't all work! I took a few hours to relax (well, maybe not "relax") and play laser tag (and bowl) with friends, David, Patrick, and Lisa, before my flight back to California.
